Well... days 13 and 14 went alright. Just really really warm. Time to wrap things up.
All in all, I'm glad I did this... but I'm also glad it's over. The first week was a breeze, and I really think anyone could do it. But by the second week things were sliding downhill fast. I was actually happy to be able to come home on the last day and take the diaper off. It feels nice to have a choice in underwear again.
This experiment has taught me one major thing. To have sympathy for those of us who have no choice but to wear diapers. You have to schedule your life a whole lot more, they're really hot in the summer time, clean up after messing is a bitch, and it can be quite embarassing to have to change when out in public. Not to mention the bag of changing supplies you have to take with you everywhere. I used to actually entertain the idea of being diaper dependant 24/7, but I now realize that it's not as much fun as it sounds. I'll stick to diapers when I want to wear them... that's all.
To those of you who took the time to read this, send me messages of encouragement, and generally show your support I send my thanks. Knowing that people cared enough to keep up with this was enough to keep me going on some of the tougher days.
All in all... it's been an interesting experience. Definately a once in a lifetime thing. I would encourage others of you out there to try it... it will teach you a few things about who you are.
Thanks for reading!

Days 11 and 12
Current diaper: Attends
Diaper status: DRY
Current time: 6:30PM Local
Wow... what a weekend. Just walked back in the door and man am I glad to be home. I feel as if I've barely had a chance to catch my breath and the weekend is already over. Anyways... on with my experiences.
The majority of Saturday was spent on the road. I drove from Charlotte up 30 miles north to my folks' place. Dropped my girlfriend off to watch the dog, then turned and took off east about 2 hours to Burlington for (gasp) more work on the car. On the road trip the diapers that I had been growing tired of really won back my confidence again. I wore a Secure on the trip and the extra padding on my rear was certainly appreciated on the long freeway stretch. The weather was hot-as-ever so plenty of fluids were a must. The Secure had all that it could take in terms of wetness by about 4 in the afternoon so I grabbed my bag from the trunk and ducked into the restroom of the Wendy's where we were having lunch to "get cleaned up."
For those of you who haven't done it... I do suggest changing in a busy public restroom once, it is an experience that is going to stay with me for a while. First I had to wait for a stall to open up, then try to untape, wipe, powder, and retape a new diaper in the cramped and dark space of the stall. It wasn't very easy. Not to mention the looks I got from the other guys in there when I stepped out of the stall and walked over to the trash can to toss my used diaper away. Glad I don't live anywhere around there LOL.
After that it was back on the road for the return trip to my folks place... until the large soda I had during lunch caught up with me about an hour down the road. Let me tell you now, I had a very hard time convincing my bladder that it was "ok" to release while behind the wheel of my precious road machine doing 80MPH. I really thought I was gonna go out of my mind there for about 10 minutes when the pressure got really bad. But eventually nature took its course and I sighed with relif. I had changed into another Secure and it readliy soaked up everything I had in me. My pants, and more importantly car seat, stayed dry and I was able to finish the drive in relative comfort.
Last night was rough. My folks' dog is spoiled to say the least, and just had to sleep in the bed with my girlfriend and I. This meant I was up until 11:00 or so when the dog finally settled down... only to be awakened about every 2 hours when the dog decided to move to a better position. I was up again at 5 to take the dog out to do its business (why oh why didn't I get doggy diapers) and by the time my alarm went off at 8 I was just as tired as I had been when I got into bed in the first place.
I spent the first part of this morning packing up my stuff from my folks place then finally got back on the road to Charlotte. But on the way we had to go by the airport and pick up my girlfriend's parents car from parking... so there was another side trip. Nothing really special in the way of diaper happenings today... but I must say that it feels nice to be home again. At this point I think I'm going to call it a night and try to get some sleep.
Tuesday will mark my 14th day in diapers... and the end of this little "experiment." I never thought I'd say it... but I am actually looking forward to it.

Days 9 and 10
Current diaper: Attends
Diaper status: WET
Current time: 2:00PM Local
Hey all... first off I want to appologise for not posting yesterday. But I ended up staying out late working on the car. When I came in I went straight to bed.
Anyways... on to new developments.
It's been a tiring couple of days. The diapers are really losing their luster fast. This has really become more difficult to do than I originally thought it would. Two things that bother me the most about wearing 24/7... #1 is messing in the diapers. I never feel like I really get it all out, and having to clean up and deal with the mess is getting old rapidly. #2 is work... I don't mind wearing them at work, but changing can be a real pain. The lack of A/C means it stays about 90 degrees in the bathroom so when I go in to "freshen up" I come out sweating worse than I was before. Nothing ruins the feel of a clean diaper more than being all sweaty when you put it on.
In the mean time being diapered at home & out in public is going just fine. It actually is nice to have a bit of extra padding on your rear when you're on the hard concrete working on the car. And I have always found diapers especially comfortable when sleeping or just lounging around.
Now for the weekend plans... this promises to be interesting. Tomorrow I am going on a road trip to a town about 2 hours away to pick up some new rims for the car. It will probably turn into an all day affair as I am meeting some folks up there as well. In theory the diapers will come into their prime on the road... I won't have to stop on the way there or back to use the restroom. Now if I should happen to need a change while I'm away... that will be a very peculiar sensation, as I have never changed in a public restroom before. We'll have to see what happens. I will probably wear a Secure tomorrow to minimize the chances of leaks or needing a stop... but you never know.
That's it for now... I'm off to go wash the car... then it will be back to shower and change... who knows what after that. I'll post up more when I get back tomorrow.

Day 8
Current diaper: Secure X-Plus
Diaper status: DRY
Current time: 6:15PM
Well... the beginning of week two. As much as I hate it... I have to say that I'm starting to look forward to the end of my little experiment. The fun factor is still there... but I think it diminishes a little more each day. If it were just wetting the diapers it wouldn't be so bad... but having to use them for #2 can start to take a toll on you after a while. I just got showered and changed for bed-time... ordered some chinese takeout for dinner and I guess I'm just gonna watch movies or play on the PS2 or Xbox till it's time for bed.
I changed at work for the second time today. I am getting used to that... so by next week it shouldn't be an issue at all. Other than that I am happy to report that all is well. My skin continues to be rash free thanks to my cleaning and airing regimin and the Attends still feel quite comfortable when I'm active during the daytime. Now that I'm used to wearing the Attends for most of my waking hours when I have a Secure on in the evening I definately notice the difference in thickness.
Since there isn't much else to report... it's time for another round of cost analysis. (Yay!)
Okay... in a week I've used a total of 9 Secures and 12 Attends. So, factoring in the costs I established in my previous post ($1.29 per Secure, $0.76 per Attends) it adds up to $20.73. Basicly $21 per week to keep myself in diapers. Not too terrible, but that is equal to eating out once, or about 1/2 a tank of gas (car burns premium).
Let's put it in another light. If I were diaper dependant 24/7 for life... it would come up to nearly $1100 a year. Certainly just as expensive as a drinking or smoking habit. I could cut costs by wearing the Secures during the daytime... but that would sacrifice comfort so things will remain as they are. Just a little something to think on... I'm paying $1100/year just to wet and mess on myself.
To those readers who are truly incontinent... my heart goes out to you... and your wallet.
Again, thanks for coming along with me this far. Let's see what the downhill slope has for us!

Day 7
Current diaper: Attends
Diaper status: DRY
Current time: 4:00PM Local
An interesting day today, a lot to talk about... so I'll just jump straight in.
I changed my diaper at work for the first time today... and in doing so was finally able to determing when an Attends is full without having to remove my clothing and look at it. I had been doing my best to pay attention to the way the diaper felt as I used it, and I knew from previous experience that the diaper would reach its limit somewhere around 11:00. I had wet at around 8, and was sitting down for the rest of the morning so I didn't trickle any out as I like to do. I don't know if it is that way with the rest of you or not, but it seems as if I don't feel the need to go until I stand up. I was beginning to wonder if I was going to need a change today or not, so I got up right near 11:00 to go get a cup of water from the cooler, to speed things along. I had taken about 2 steps when it started coming out (good timing) so I finished then went and clocked out for lunch.
I then went out to my car and got my diaper bag out of the trunk. I tried to act as normal as possibly when walking back in with it, past my co-workers. They were so absorbed in work that they didn't say a thing. I stepped into the bathroom, closed and locked the door behind me, and then the fun began. It took me about 5 minutes to do everything. The only obstacle was the fact that the toilet at work dosen't have a lid so I had to remain standing while I positioned and fastened my diaper. Overall it worked pretty well. The only thing I was really worried about was someone coming in after me and smelling baby powder. Thankfully nobody noticed a thing, and I was able to have lunch in peace and return to work.
MESSING IN PUBLIC
After speaking with a few people on line and doing some considering on my own I decided that today would be the day to do as requested and mess my diaper in public. This was NOT something I looked forward to in the least, but I knew that it would be best to proceed anyways in the name of "science." After all, people that truly need diapers don't have a choice where they go at... so why should I? I didn't go #2 at all yesterday, and skipped it this morning too... so by the time 1:00 this afternoon came around I was feeling very ready to get the business over with.
Let me tell you... the hardest thing about it was trying to mess my diaper without looking like I was messing my diaper. I walked over to a shelf to put some things away, spread my legs a little bit and gave a few small pushes. At first I didn't think anything was going to happen, apparently my bottom needed a minute to determine that this was "the real thing" and go full-force with the operation. Two days worth was a lot to put into the diaper at once, it just kept coming and about halfway through I wondered if it was gonna leak out the sides or not. Thankfully the Attends held strong and contained the mess and the subsequent emptying of my bladder without any problems. My only issue now was living with it for the next 30 minutes of work and the 15 minute drive home.
Walking around with a loaded diaper wasn't so bad. I still had to clean up and take out the trash from work before I could leave so I had a good enough amount of time to experience that. The combination of briefs over the diaper and my shorts didn't allow the diaper to sag any so the mess stayed exactly where it had landed in the first place, which was alright b/c it didn't make me waddle too much. The problem was when it came time to get into the car and drive home... talk about a gross feeling. It was like I had just sat down in a pie.
After about 5 minutes of driving the feeling passed and as long as I didn't shift driving positions I was okay. Cleanup at home however, was another matter as the mess was spread thorougly over my bottom and between my legs. I took a good 20 minute shower and scrubbed myself all over to make sure it was gone.
After cleaning up I changed into the diaper I have on now, then went back out and had some lunch.
OTHER OBSERVATIONS
As it has been nearly a full week it is time to share a few revelations I have had.
First off, while this is fun and I am still enjoying it, I must admit that the diapers are beginning to lose their novelty. While they have always been a nice comfort and convienience item, having to wear them all the time casts a different light on things. This has not affected my determination to complete the experiment, but it has made parts of it (the morning diaper change for example) very monotonous. I wonder if a few more days will see me becoming slightly disenchanted with the whole diaper business. We'll just have to wait and find out.
Secondly, a good "side effect" of me being diapered 24/7 has been my girlfriend's reaction. I knew she would be supportive of me and my mission, but last night she admitted that when I am constantly diapered like this she does have a difficult time keeping her hands off of me and my diaper. She is a bedwetter and wears diapers to bed most every night so I know there is an element of attraction in them for her to begin with. What I don't know is if it's my diapers in themselves or the idea of certain parts of my anatomy being kept shielded and out of reach that gets inside her head the most. I will be investigating further.... heheheh.
One other thing I was asked to report on is the condition of my skin. I am happy to report that I have had no problems in this area at all. I do believe that this is due to a few precautions that I may not have mentioned before. I did shave everything in my diaper area that I could get my razor to before starting this experiment. This was done to remove anything that might be between my skin and the diaper. Urine can stay in hair just like sweat or water, and will not be absorbed by the diaper as fast as it would on bare skin. As a result of my shaving my skin stays drier and more comfortable.
I also use a decent amount of powder every time I change. This powder helps soothe the skin, absorbs sweat, and prevents chafing. I simply sprinkle powder into the diaper before taping it on, doing my best to keep it off of my hands and away from the tapes as powdered tapes don't stick.
I believe that's all I wanted to cover in this post. Thanks for reading, and I'll be back with more tomorrow!

Day 6
Current diaper: Attends
Diaper status: WET
Current Time: 6:30PM
Well, an interesting day today. I decided to revamp my morning schedule again and see what happened. I didn't eat breakfast or mess my diaper, I also skipped my shower. It saved me about 15 minutes this morning and I'm feeling fine so far.
Work was going fine today, I didn't drink much and I didn't think I wet too much I actually didn't think too much about wetting at all, dunno if this is a sign or not. But apparently my diaper decided it was full at about 11. It was very humid out so I was covered in sweat, and I really didn't think much of my rear end being wet and slightly sticky at the time, until I stood up at about noon and my hand grazed the back of my pants, to find my rear end soaked. I slipped into the bathroom for a minute and examined the back of my pants. I had the two classic "leaky diaper" stains on the back pockets of my pants that would be obvious to any mother... not good. At that point however I decided it was too late to change as I was going to come home and shower anyways. So I had to live with the "wet butt of shame" for the next hour and a half.
This has led me to the decision that I am going to change my diaper at work at 11:00 whether it feels full or not. I just sweat so much that it's hard to tell the wet diaper from the wetness on the rest of my body. Luckily 11:00 will be right in the middle of my normal lunch break so I have plenty of time to change and not be rushed.
I still haven't emptied my bowels yet... don't know if I will today as the urge really hasn't hit me. I'm not gonna try to force it at this time. I've been eating a decent amount of vegetables so I'm not concerned about any problems yet.
Well... that's pretty much it for now. Another evening of watching TV and hitting the rack at about 9 is in store for me. I'll post up should anything of note happen.

Day 5
Current diaper: Secure X-Plus
Diaper status: WET
Current time: 7:35PM Local
Pretty unevenful day today. Stayed in bed till 9 and then just lazied around the house in nothing but a t-shirt and diaper. While some may find this odd I feel that it is very natural and liberating. It is also very cool and comfortable. I try to keep the air turned to between 70 and 75, so it's nice to be able to just sit around and not worry.
I find as time goes on that my natural urges to mess my diaper get slightly less every day. I don't know if this is my body trying to reschedule itself to it's new "environment" or if it's just my subconcious not wanting to deal with the cleanup. I didn't mess at all yesterday so I decided that I better do it today rather than put it off and risk complications. Most of the day I felt that I could go... I just didn't need to. So I waited till about 5:00 and finally decided to try. I'm glad I did b/c now that I'm all emptied out and cleaned up I feel a lot better. I think I'm gonna try skipping that part of my normal morning routine tomorrow and see what happens. Maybe my body will work something else out on its own.
That's pretty much it for today. Just got into my night-time diaper... gonna have some dinner before heading to bed. These weekends always seem too short... and morning always comes too early.
